Friday, July 12. Solo guitar funeral.

Providing music for funeral/memorial services/celebration of life events are becoming a service I find myself doing more and more. In the past, Stringtown Trio has done several Irish Wakes (so far, no one has danced with the corpse).

It's striking how similar these events are to doing music at a wedding. Typically, prelude music as guests gather and are seated - then, special music during parts of a ceremony and at the conclusion of the ceremony - followed by playing background music during a luncheon (or cocktail hour at a wedding).

Friday was a mix of religious and secular music arranged for solo classical guitar.
