When this event was booked a few months ago the client described it as

"a wedding, or whatever you want to call it." :-)

Low-stress, easy, friendly, talented, accommodating

Robert & his group are an easy decision to make. They came early to set up with a quick overview, were flexible to plans, accommodated moving their location to multiple places around our venue, even composed a cover and learned a specific song that we requested. Communication was flawless.Rob and the band added the perfect atmosphere to our event, and made it easy to do so.

Stringtown Trio (Robert McCloy, fiddle. Pooh Stevenson, mandolin. Chris Rietz, guitar.

We played a variety of Celtic, folk/Americana tunes, and a few tradition jazz standards for an hour as people met, greeted each other, laughed, & played various lawn games... a joyful gathering of several generations of family and friends. We then proceeded to a beautiful site overlooking the lake for a warm, funny, and moving (as described by the client) "whatever you want to call it" that was indeed a celebration of the couple having been together for 10 years - concluding with a wedding ceremony.

As I frequently do, I wrote an arrangement for a tune requested to be played as the couple entered the ceremony location. I expect to make use of the this arrangement many more times with a variety of ensembles -especially looking forward to doing it with violin and sax :-)

Here it is (page 1): Brian Wilson's "God Only Knows"

I do special requests all the time. It's all in a day's work. Call/text 517-203-4477 or email rmccloygtr@gmail.com with music requested to be included at your next
